Logistics Improvements

10 updates in Hero, including Locked Strips, Weather Strips and Split-Day Breaks.

🔒 Locked Strips

Lock a strip’s time so edits, drags and schedule generation plan around it.

For: moments that can’t move, like a venue’s set times or a 4pm speech.

How: Lock time from the strip’s ⋯ menu or at the bottom of the time picker. A lock icon shows in the Time cell; click it to unlock.

Behavior: a locked strip can’t be dragged, moved to another day or re-timed; everything else rearranges around it. If earlier strips run long, the locked time turns red instead of moving. Duration and notes stay editable. Moving a production day takes its locked strips with it.

Generation and Agent: schedule generation and Hero Agent keep every locked strip in place and say when a day doesn’t fit.

🌤️ Weather Strips

Add sunrise, sunset, rain or cloud strips that fill in times from location and date.

How: Add strip → Weather, then click the strip’s weather icon to pick Sunrise, Sunset, Rain or Clouds.

Auto times: sunrise and sunset fill in from the day’s first location and production date, and are locked by default. Rain and clouds cover the forecast window.

Layout: sits in its own row at its real time without pushing other strips or adding to the day.

Warnings: an orange dot flags a daylight exterior after sunset or before sunrise, or an exterior during forecast rain.

Agent: Hero Agent can offer a shoot day’s sunrise, sunset and rain as weather strips in one tap.

☕ Split-Day Breaks

Split one shoot day into Part A and Part B around a long mid-day break.

For: days like a morning block, three hours off, then an evening block.

How: Add strip → Break (starts at three hours; start and duration are editable). A day can have more than one.

Timing: each part keeps its own times, so changes before the Break don’t push the part after it. If a part would overlap the next, the schedule asks first.

Totals: break time doesn’t count toward the eight-hour day warning; the day header reads like “11h incl. 3h break”.

Call sheets: show Part A and Part B crew calls side by side.

Generation: keeps Breaks where you put them, and adds one when you ask for split blocks.

🌙 Overnight Shoots

Run a production day past midnight and keep it as one day and one call sheet.

How it looks: the day divider shows both dates (“Fri, Jan 2 – Sat, Jan 3”) and times after midnight show their date (“1:30 AM (Jan 3)”).

Confirmation: the first time an edit, paste, move or new strip pushes a day past midnight, the schedule asks “Is this an overnight shoot?” Yes keeps it as one day; No undoes the change.

Generation and Agent: only build overnight days when your instructions or project documents say it’s an overnight shoot.

🗓️ Schedule Generation Upgrades

Generate a full shoot schedule with call times, breaks and moves from written notes.

What it does: Generate schedule arranges strips into shoot days with call times and the breaks a day needs. Day 1 opens with set up and team introductions; non-scripted days get a reset between interviews; setup time is added only for company moves or big set changes.

Instructions: write them in the dialog, like “start at 8am, group the interiors, keep the beach work together”.

Anchors: strips already pinned to a day and time, and locked strips, stay put.

Safety: an automatic snapshot is taken before each run so you can restore from History.

⌨️ Spreadsheet-Style Editing

Edit schedules like a spreadsheet: arrow keys, Tab, paste ranges, bulk actions.

Keyboard: arrow keys and Tab move between cells, Enter edits, Escape cancels, Cmd/Ctrl+A selects every strip.

Paste: paste into a cell or a selected range; dates, times, durations and dropdowns are read like typed values.

Bulk actions: recolor, change date, duplicate, change strip type or delete selected strips.

Columns: drag headers to reorder; the column layout is shared across the project and used in PDFs.

Also: comment on individual schedule cells, add images to strips and open them larger, and edit date and time together in one Time cell.

Applies to: the schedule, the shotlist and a call sheet’s schedule.

📋 Call Sheet Header Widgets

Choose which header blocks a call sheet shows: logo, times, weather, hospital and more.

Pieces: logo, project name, production date, production info, call times, shoot location, weather, parking, nearest hospital, base camp, notes.

How: remove any piece, add it back from the Header widgets (cog) menu or Call sheet header in the / menu, or Restore default header. A returning piece keeps its previous value.

Comments: comment on any header tile, including the location map.

Auto values: weather follows the shoot location and date; nearest hospital fills from the location and follows changes unless typed by hand.

👥 Pre-filled Cast & Crew

Generated call sheets start with cast by character and crew from your project team.

Cast table: one row per character with its number, who plays them (when project documents say), arrival at crew call, and their first shot time that day.

Crew table: Director of Photography and On-Site Contact when your documents name them, then project members with job title and phone number.

Phone numbers: add yours in Profile settings.

Crew call: starts from the schedule’s first time that day; if they later disagree, the sheet offers to match them.

Editable: everything is plain editable text once the sheet is created.

🔓 Unsync a Call Sheet

Detach a call sheet from the schedule to try day versions without changing the plan.

How: from the call sheet’s menu.

Result: the sheet keeps its own copy of that day’s rows; later schedule changes no longer appear on it, and its edits never change the schedule. Several sheets for the same day can each hold a different version.

Note: unsyncing can’t be undone.

🕘 Schedule & Call Sheet History

Browse, preview and restore schedule and call sheet versions; save named versions.

Where: the History sidebar on the Schedule and on each call sheet.

What you can do: browse automatic snapshots, preview one read-only, restore it (with Undo), and save named versions. Named versions open as frozen copies you can share, rename, restore or delete.

Call sheets: a saved version keeps that day’s schedule rows exactly as they were.

Who: editors. Reviewers and share-link viewers don’t see History.
